Police state the motive may be linked to a divorce notice sent a week prior. The accused reportedly planned the attack for months, obtaining an illegal firearm and carrying a knife. He surrendered to police shortly after the incident, reportedly stating his wife "deserved it" and showing no remorse. The couple had been married since 2011 and lived separately for over a year due to marital discord.
