The Bombay High Court denied bail to veterinary doctor Yusuf Khan, accused in the 2022 murder of Amravati pharmacist Umesh Kolhe. Kolhe was killed after posting support for then BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma, whose comments on Prophet Muhammad sparked controversy. The court noted a prima facie case of a grave offence involving a gang formed to strike terror in society. Khan's defense claimed he only sought to harm Kolhe's business, but the court found evidence suggesting conspiracy and terror intent.
