A reversing BEST bus struck and killed four pedestrians, injuring nine others, outside Mumbai's Bhandup railway station late Monday night. Eyewitnesses and some reports suggest that hawkers' encroachment on sidewalks may have forced pedestrians onto the road. CCTV footage captured the tragic moments. The bus driver has been taken into custody, and an FIR has been registered. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced an ex-gratia of ₹5 lakh for the families of the deceased.
