A fire in a Goregaon West residential building in Mumbai early Saturday morning claimed the lives of three family members: Sanjog Pawaskar (48), his daughter Harshada (19), and son Kushal (12). The victims died from suffocation due to heavy smoke. Local residents attempted to douse the flames before the Mumbai Fire Brigade arrived and cut off the power supply. The cause of the fire, which was confined to electrical wiring and household items, is under investigation, with preliminary suspicions pointing to a short circuit or domestic negligence. The family's wife and another daughter survived as they were not home at the time.
