Police Seize Illicit Liquor Worth Rs 75 Lakh from Truck in UP's Ballia, One Arrested

Police in Uttar Pradesh's Ballia district seized 9,086 litres of illicit liquor valued at approximately Rs 75 lakh from a truck en route to Bihar. The seizure occurred near the Sohawn petrol pump on the Purvanchal Expressway following a tip-off. A 27-year-old man from Rajasthan, identified as Achla Ram, was arrested. Authorities also found egg cartons allegedly used to conceal the liquor. A case has been registered under the Excise Act, with further legal action ongoing.
