Andhra Pradesh police in Eluru district have dismantled a child trafficking gang following investigations into suspicious child registration records. Two cases emerged: a newborn girl allegedly bought for around Rs 3 lakh by a couple from Mudinepalli mandal, and a newborn boy reportedly sold for Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000 at a private hospital, involving hospital staff. Nine accused, including parents and intermediaries, have been identified. Two infants were rescued, and investigations continue under relevant trafficking and juvenile justice laws.
