Two separate cases have exposed fraudulent surrogacy practices in India involving exploitation and trafficking. In Indore, a couple was drugged, raped, and held captive by a man posing as a doctor under the pretext of IVF and surrogacy, who forcibly took their newborn. Separately, a decade-long baby trafficking racket spanning Telangana and other states was uncovered after DNA tests revealed mismatches, leading to arrests and investigations into falsified documents and illegal child sales. Authorities continue probing financial and criminal links in these surrogacy-related crimes.
