Cybercriminals Defraud Madhya Pradesh Residents in Impersonation and Matrimonial Scams

In Madhya Pradesh, cybercriminals have targeted individuals through impersonation and online scams. A 90-year-old retired Air Force doctor in Gwalior was defrauded of approximately Rs 2.5 crore by fraudsters posing as CBI officials who imposed a fake 'digital arrest' over 25 days. Separately, a 45-year-old doctor lost Rs 22.25 lakh in a matrimonial app scam involving a fake Germany-based ophthalmologist. Additionally, a woman in Bhopal was cheated of Rs 1.20 lakh and a gold chain by a man posing as a BSF jawan on a matrimonial site. Police investigations are ongoing in these cases.
