78-Year-Old Bengaluru Man Targeted in Online Sextortion; Cybercrime Case Registered

A 46-year-old homemaker filed a complaint with Bengaluru cyber police alleging that her 78-year-old father-in-law was targeted in an online sextortion and blackmail scheme. The accused woman, using a fake Facebook profile, initiated contact and later engaged in intimate video calls, recording them to demand ransom starting at Rs 2 lakh. She also created a fake Instagram account impersonating the victim and threatened to circulate private content. Police have registered a case and are investigating to identify and apprehend the accused.
