Following a magisterial inquiry into a Goa nightclub fire that killed 25 people, the Arpora sarpanch has been disqualified for persistent dereliction of duties, with the order citing a breach of public trust. The panchayat secretary was also sacked from government service for remaining absent during a hearing for a demolition order on the nightclub, which operated without a valid trade license. Two Goa State Pollution Control Board officers were also suspended in connection with the incident.
