CBI Arrests HPCL Sales Officer for Alleged Bribe in Retail Outlet Handover

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Pratik Tagale, a sales officer at Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) in Chandrapur, Maharashtra, for allegedly demanding a Rs 2 lakh bribe to facilitate the handover of an HPCL retail outlet. The complainant could only pay Rs 1 lakh initially, which Tagale accepted as part payment. The CBI laid a trap and caught Tagale red-handed on January 17, 2026, leading to his arrest.
