A 25-year-old man, previously externed from Pune district for theft and assault, has been arrested for allegedly raping his mother-in-law in Alandi. The incident occurred while the victim was visiting her son-in-law's family. The accused, who was reportedly living within the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate limits despite his externment, has been booked under various sections, including the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. A constable has been suspended due to alleged lapses related to the rise in externment violations.
