Kerala Woman Arrested Over Viral Video Linked to Man’s Suicide

Shimjitha Musthafa, a Kerala-based social media influencer, was arrested in connection with the suicide of 42-year-old sales manager U Deepak. Shimjitha posted a video accusing Deepak of sexual harassment during a crowded bus journey, which went viral and led to widespread online harassment of Deepak. His family denied the allegations, stating the contact was accidental and that Deepak was deeply distressed before his death. Police have charged Shimjitha with abetment to suicide and remanded her to 14 days judicial custody while investigating the video’s authenticity.
