A truck carrying husk or wood shavings overturned onto a Bolero SUV on the Nainital National Highway in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, killing the SUV's driver, Firasat Khan, instantly. The accident occurred when the truck, reportedly overloaded, swerved to avoid the Bolero, mounted a divider, and toppled. The Bolero, which bore 'Uttar Pradesh Government' markings and was used by an electricity department SDO, was completely crushed. Rescue operations involved cranes and JCBs, causing significant traffic disruption. Police are investigating the incident.
