
Two men in Kerala were sentenced under the Protection of Children against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for sexually abusing minors. Subash Kumar, a 57-year-old tuition teacher, received 18 years of rigorous imprisonment for abusing a Dalit girl in 2013-14, with the case reported after 11 years due to trauma. Jayakumar, 65, was sentenced to seven years for abusing a 15-year-old boy in 2025. Both cases were tried in fast-track courts with prosecution led by R.S. Vijay Mohan.
