In Jharkhand's Gumla district, a 62-year-old woman named Mangari Devi was allegedly hacked to death on February 25 over suspicion of practising witchcraft. Two men attacked her with an axe while she was en route to a marriage ceremony, and her body was dumped in a nearby forest. One suspect has been arrested and admitted to the killing, citing illness in his family attributed to the woman's alleged black magic. Police are searching for the second accused.
