In Uttar Pradesh's Mahoba district, a retired railway employee, Omprakash Singh Rathore, died after allegedly being held captive and starved for five years by his caretakers, Ram Prakash Kushwaha and his wife Ramdevi. His mentally challenged daughter, Rashmi, was found severely emaciated and near death. Relatives allege the caretakers confined the father and daughter to lower rooms, denied them basic necessities, and prevented visitors. Police are investigating the incident, with the father's body sent for post-mortem.
