Neighbour Arrested for Alleged Acid Attack on Minor Girl in Wayanad, Kerala

A 14-year-old girl in Wayanad, Kerala, suffered severe burns after her neighbour, 53-year-old Raju Jose, allegedly attacked her with acid on Friday evening. The victim, a Class VIII student named Mahalakshmi, was initially treated at a local hospital before being transferred to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital. Police reported multiple disputes between the neighbours, including the accused's recent request for the girl's Student Police Cadet uniform, which she refused. Jose fled but was arrested early Saturday and is under interrogation. He will be produced in court as part of remand proceedings.
