A 20-year-old tribal man, Ayta Kuharami, died after stepping on a pressure-activated improvised explosive device (IED) planted by Maoists in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district. The blast occurred in a forest area frequently used by villagers. Security forces have launched search and bomb disposal operations to locate additional devices. Authorities urged residents to exercise caution and report suspicious objects, noting that while IEDs target security personnel, civilians often suffer casualties in the Bastar region.
