An elderly woman, believed to be a pavement dweller, died after being run over by a JCB machine during excavation work at Chimbai Ground in Bandra, Mumbai. The incident occurred Saturday night when the woman was sleeping at the ground. The JCB operator, Salim Noor Khan, was booked for negligence under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Motor Vehicles Act. A passerby alerted authorities, and the woman was taken to Bhabha Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries on Sunday.
