Mumbai Man Arrested for Extortion Attempt Against Andhra MP Using RTI Information

Police have arrested Rushant Jaykumar Wadke in Mumbai for allegedly attempting to extort Rs 5 crore from an Andhra Pradesh MP. Wadke, who claimed to be an RTI activist, reportedly threatened to leak sensitive information obtained through RTI applications to central agencies. The MP sent his personal assistant to negotiate, but Wadke's associate allegedly robbed the PA of Rs 70,000 at knifepoint. The arrest was made in a joint operation by Andhra Pradesh and Mumbai police.
