Traffic Police Conduct Special Drives Booking Over 1,800 Drunk Drivers in March

Traffic police in Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Malkajgiri, and Gurugram conducted special drives in March targeting drunk driving. Authorities booked 849 offenders in Hyderabad region and 968 motorists were fined or booked in Gurugram. Most offenders were two-wheeler riders, with blood alcohol levels often exceeding legal limits. Police emphasized strict enforcement under the Motor Vehicles Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including license suspensions, vehicle impoundments, and court proceedings to deter repeat offenses and enhance road safety.
