Jailed gangster Bandu Andekar, accused in his grandson's murder, filed nomination papers for the Pune civic polls with his face covered and hands tied, under police escort. A special MCOCA court granted him conditional permission to contest as an independent candidate. His sister-in-law and daughter-in-law, also accused in the case, filed nominations as well. However, election officials stated the forms were incomplete and would need to be refiled. Andekar reportedly raised slogans during the process, potentially violating court conditions.
