Mumbai NIA Court Takes Cognisance of Fifth Supplementary Chargesheet Against Areeb Majeed Under UAPA
A special NIA court in Mumbai took cognisance of the fifth supplementary chargesheet against alleged ISIS recruit Areeb Majeed under Section 17 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, related to raising funds for terrorist acts. The chargesheet alleges Majeed and co-accused planned to travel to Iraq in 2014 to join ISIS. Majeed contested the charges, citing lack of evidence on fund usage, but the court allowed the chargesheet while affirming the defence's right to challenge the evidence.
