Pune police have formed a special squad to monitor gangsters, particularly those intending to contest or campaign in the upcoming civic elections. This initiative follows attempts by jailed gangster Bandu Andekar and two family members to file nominations for the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) elections. The squad aims to prevent any undue pressure on voters and ensure fair elections by keeping a close watch on individuals with criminal backgrounds.
