Two Killed as Intoxicated SUV Driver Hits E-Rickshaw in Jalandhar

In Jalandhar, a speeding SUV driven by Gursher Partap Singh Gill, reportedly intoxicated, collided with an e-rickshaw carrying Sheetal Sharma and her 10-year-old granddaughter Mahi Sharma, killing both. The e-rickshaw driver, Mahi's father, was injured. After the collision, the SUV crashed into a roadside pole. Locals detained the driver, who was arrested following a medical examination. Police registered cases under multiple sections, and the victims' family protested alleging police protection of the accused.
