Aniket Mahato, president of the Junior Doctors' Front (JDF), has resigned citing financial irregularities and undemocratic functioning within the organization. The JDF was formed to pursue justice for Abhaya, a young doctor who was raped and murdered. Mahato alleged that his concerns about the 'Abhaya Fund' were ignored, leading him to step down to uphold the movement's principles. The case, involving the murder of a doctor at RG Kar Hospital, had previously led to significant junior doctor agitation.
