Two Convicted for Cheating LIC, Sentenced to Five Years Imprisonment and Fine

A CBI court in Lucknow has sentenced Braj Kumar Pandey and Manish Kumar Srivastava to five years imprisonment and a Rs 12 lakh fine each for cheating the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India. The conviction stems from a case where they allegedly defrauded LIC of over Rs 15 lakh between 2001 and 2003 by creating fictitious policies. Two other accused were acquitted due to insufficient evidence.
