A Public Prosecutor in Kalaburagi, identified as Rajamahendra, was apprehended by Lokayukta Police on Tuesday for allegedly accepting a bribe. The prosecutor reportedly demanded ₹50,000 to favor an accused in a case under the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act. He was caught red-handed accepting an advance of ₹25,000 near the High Court premises. The Lokayukta laid the trap after a complaint from the individual seeking the favor.
