Assam Rifles and Agencies Seize Drugs and Foreign Currency in Northeast India Operations

Assam Rifles, in coordination with the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence and other agencies, seized narcotics worth over Rs 57 crore and large amounts of Burmese kyat currency in operations across Assam, Mizoram, and Manipur. Key seizures include 1,30,000 Yaba tablets valued at Rs 39 crore in Assam's Cachar district and foreign currency worth over Rs 4 crore in Mizoram's Siaha district. Multiple individuals, including residents of Tripura, Myanmar nationals, and locals, were apprehended. Investigations and legal proceedings are ongoing.
