Nine-Year-Old Dies After Chemical Drum Explosion in West Bengal's Bhangar Area

A nine-year-old boy, Sadikul Ahmed, died on February 25 in Kolkata after suffering critical burn injuries from a chemical-filled drum explosion in West Bengal's Bhangar area on February 17. The incident occurred while four children were playing near the roadside. Three children were injured; Sadikul had about 95% burns and was in ICU before his death. Two other injured children remain in stable condition. Family members alleged the drum, containing diesel, was left unattended in a populated area during road repair work.
