Thane MACT Awards Compensation in Two Road Accident Cases Involving Fatality and Disability

The Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) in Thane awarded compensation in two separate cases involving road accidents. In one, the family of Surekha Yogesh More, killed by a speeding tanker in 2016, received Rs 25.59 lakh plus interest. In another, advocate Vaishali Nitin Mohite, rendered paraplegic in a 2019 car accident, was awarded Rs 94.27 lakh, covering disability, attendant charges, and pain. Both awards included 9% annual interest and involved insurance companies directed to pay the sums.
