Takam Kechak, the primary accused in the Lada-Sarli Frontier Highway land compensation scam, has been granted bail by a special judge in Yupia. Kechak, a former East Kameng DLRSO, was arrested on December 17 for his alleged involvement in the scam. The court cited non-compliance with procedural requirements by the investigating officer as grounds for granting bail, while acknowledging sufficient incriminating materials and the involvement of others in the alleged crime. Conditions for bail include depositing his passport and not leaving the country.
