A sub-inspector at Nawabganj police station in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, was arrested for allegedly accepting a Rs 10,000 bribe. The arrest was made by the anti-corruption team after a complainant accused the officer of demanding money to drop serious charges against an accused. The sub-inspector was apprehended while receiving the bribe at the block development office and will be presented in court.
