Karnataka Godman Booked Under POCSO After Viral Video of Alleged Misconduct

Mallikarjun Mutya, a self-styled godman from Karnataka's Yadgir district, has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act following a viral video allegedly showing inappropriate behavior with a minor girl at Mahal Roja Mutt. The Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights took suo motu cognisance, prompting police action and an investigation. While the child's parents initially did not find the behavior improper, the Child Welfare Committee recommended FIR registration after counseling. Mutya has reportedly fled and is currently absconding, with authorities seeking his arrest. The accused's family denies the allegations.
