Indian-Origin Couple Arrested in Virginia for Alleged Drug and Sex Trafficking at Motel

An Indian-origin couple, Kosha Sharma (52) and Tarun Sharma (55), were arrested in Virginia for allegedly operating a drug and sex trafficking ring from their motel, Red Carpet Inn. Federal and local authorities conducted undercover operations between May and December 2023, documenting multiple drug sales, including fentanyl, and prostitution encounters primarily on the motel's third floor. Along with three others, the couple faces charges of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, carrying a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years if convicted.
