Man Charged with Cheating Software Engineer of Rs 1.75 Crore over False Marriage Promise

A software engineer from Whitefield, Bengaluru, accused Vijay Raj Gowda of cheating her of Rs 1.75 crore by promising marriage while hiding his existing marriage and child. Gowda, who claimed to be a wealthy businessman with assets worth Rs 715 crore, introduced his wife as his sister and cited legal issues to borrow money from the victim, her friends, and relatives. Police have registered a case against Gowda, his father Boregowda, and a woman named Soumya, with investigations ongoing.
