Anantapur district reported a significant 22.5% decrease in crimes in 2025, with 6,851 cases compared to 8,841 in 2024. Superintendent of Police P. Jagadeesh attributed this decline to effective policing, increased technology use, and a focus on public safety. Notable reductions were seen in murder cases, chain snatchings, and crimes against women, including a 56% drop in the murder of women. Kidnapping cases saw a slight increase, but overall bodily offenses decreased.
