Jhansi police arrested Mukesh Jha, the main accused in the murder of Anita Chaudhary, the city's first woman autorickshaw driver. Chaudhary was found shot dead on January 5. Police investigation revealed a dispute stemming from a 6-7 year relationship between Chaudhary and Jha. Jha was apprehended after a police encounter where he was shot in the leg while attempting to flee and firing at officers. He confessed to the murder, citing feelings of betrayal in love.
