A suspected drug syndicate kingpin, Taslim, evaded arrest during a police raid in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, by escaping through a hidden basement exit. Taslim, who faces over 70 criminal cases, allegedly built the 15-foot deep basement to store drug consignments and facilitate his escape. The raid followed the arrest of his son and an associate with over 500 grams of charas. Police also allege Taslim used minors for drug transport and previously had properties seized under the Gangster Act.
