Murder Accused Dies by Suicide in Police Custody in Ranchi; Probe Initiated

Jagai Munda, accused of strangling a 12-year-old boy in Jharkhand's Khunti district, allegedly died by suicide in police custody at Namkum police station in Ranchi. Police stated he hanged himself using a blanket or sheet provided for warmth. Following the incident, five policemen were suspended and departmental action recommended against two. A probe committee has been formed, and Munda's body was sent for post-mortem at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences.
