Mumbai airport authorities intercepted a passenger arriving from Bahrain, seizing 3.05 kg of 24-carat gold dust mixed with wax, valued at 3.89 crore. The gold was concealed within capsules hidden inside a water tumbler. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) made the seizure based on specific intelligence, and an investigation is ongoing to uncover the smuggling network. This incident is part of ongoing efforts by the DRI to curb illegal gold imports.
