Kerala Woman Arrested for Alleged Role in Man's Suicide Following Viral Misconduct Video

Shimjitha Musthafa, a 35-year-old woman from Vadakara, Kerala, was arrested for allegedly abetting the suicide of Deepak U, a 42-year-old sales manager from Kozhikode. Musthafa posted a viral video accusing Deepak of sexual misconduct during a crowded bus journey, which led to widespread online harassment and public scrutiny. Following Deepak's death by suicide, police registered a case under Section 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Investigations include examination of video footage and statements from involved parties, while the Kerala State Human Rights Commission has ordered a high-level inquiry.
