Man and Teenage Daughter Drown in Virar Quarry During Rescue Attempt

A 40-year-old man, Vinayak Sitam, and his 16-year-old daughter, Ishita, drowned in a water-filled quarry in Virar, Palghar district, while attempting to rescue each other. The incident occurred during a visit to relatives on Makar Sankranti. Fire brigade teams conducted a search and recovered their bodies. Police have registered an accidental death case and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
