A 35-year-old woman, Kalpana Soni, was allegedly murdered in Palghar, Maharashtra, following a domestic dispute over dowry. Police arrested her husband, Mahesh Soni, and his sister, Deepali Soni, for allegedly attacking her with a sharp weapon. The couple married in 2015, and the victim had reportedly faced harassment from her in-laws. The accused initially claimed she fell, but doctors confirmed death by severe beating. A court has remanded the accused to seven days of police custody.
