The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a 2016 batch IRS officer, Prabha Bhandari, along with two GST superintendents, in connection with an alleged ₹1.5 crore bribery case. The officers are accused of accepting ₹70 lakh in cash as an initial installment to allegedly bury a tax evasion case. Investigators reportedly used a recorded phone call, where Bhandari allegedly approved the bribe and gave instructions, as key evidence. The arrested officers were presented before a special CBI court in Lucknow.
