Gurugram Municipal Corporation Helper Arrested for Accepting Rs 40,000 Bribe

A contractual helper of the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram, identified as Kapil from Palra village, was arrested by the Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau for accepting a Rs 40,000 bribe. The bribe was allegedly demanded to prevent officials from stopping construction work at a resident's house, initially set at Rs 50,000 but negotiated down. An FIR was registered under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and extortion laws, and the accused's contract is set to be terminated. Investigation continues.
