A lottery vendor, Thangaraj, died on January 1st, a week after being hit by a car on Christmas Eve. The car was allegedly driven by actor Sidharth Prabhu, who was reportedly over the legal alcohol limit at the time of the incident. Prabhu was arrested on December 24th and is now facing upgraded charges, including under Section 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, following the victim's death. Footage online shows a confrontation between bystanders and the actor after the crash.
