Contractual Lineman Electrocuted in Deoria, Body Retrieved After Delay

In Deoria district, Uttar Pradesh, contractual lineman Mukhtar Sahni, 30, died from electrocution while connecting wires on a transformer near a junior high school in Majhwalia village. The power supply unexpectedly switched on, causing the accident. His body remained hanging for about three hours before officials, including the Naib Tehsildar and electricity department's Sub-Divisional Officer, arrived to bring it down. The police sent the body for post-mortem. The Junior Engineer was reportedly unreachable during the incident.
