The Uttar Pradesh Police have launched a short awareness film featuring veteran actor Nana Patekar to combat cyber fraud. The 5.27-minute film, based on a real Kanpur incident, educates the public about online scams, particularly 'digital arrest' frauds, and advises on protection. It clarifies that 'digital arrest' is not a legal concept and warns against threatening calls or payment demands. The film, directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, will be screened in cinemas and shared on UP Police social media.
